Our next blog post is here.Today Iam starting with a short inspirational story most of us has heard of. "The Elephant and the rope." Once a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?
Your mind is like a parachute,it won't work unless you open it. Your belief makes you who you are and how you see life. Remember the only person who can convince and push you out of your negative zone is YOU. No one else can do it. Nothing is impossible for you once you start believing in yourself. Walk out of your negative zone and motivate yourself to achieve your goal. Try motivating yourself in whatever you do,you can see how things change in your life.
I motivate myself when I am lost, because I am pretty sure I can only do it for myself and no one else will ever do it for me. Even if someone did,how far they can convince you and your mind. No one can help you out of the dungeon you created in your mind other than you. Self appraisal and motivation can boost confidence and self esteem. Moreover it helps you walk out of your negative zone. Remind yourself the only person who can convince you is You. Never give up just because you failed at it once before like an elephant. Trust yourself.
